Artist Robyn Klein Gecht in front of her artwork
“My work explores the intersection of identity and nature, using photography and digital media as a tool for expression and investigation. Through both bold colors, as well as black and white images, my aim is to evoke introspection and connection. My photographs can be both playful as well as serious and contemplative.
Much of my inspiration comes from natural found beauty in my environment. This can range from cultural life here in NYC to the beauty one finds in nature. I am drawn to moments when nature reveals its delicacy. This can be the majesty of a waterall or an eroded coastline, or simply blooming petals, These themes serve as metaphors for life; resilience, transformation and renewal. My art becomes a space where the environment and human fragility converge.
I am particularly drawn to themes of commonalities we share as human beings. Each piece is both a question and an offering—a way of engaging the viewer in a dialogue beyond words.
Ultimately, my practice is rooted in a desire to reflect the world’s complexity, and to celebrate beauty in the overlooked. I like to share my photography as a bridge between the seen and the felt. It tries to honor the fleeting moments and asks how we may learn to care more deeply for one another."
