Clio Art Fair Spotlight: a Review by Pierre Bouchard

Artist Pierre Bouchard with his artworks in his studio

His abundant creations range from graphic novels to paintings. His career took off in Quebec City and then in the Charlevoix region, where he began a collection of paintings inspired by landscapes and mountains. Pierre Bouchard’s pictorial work is the result of an awareness of the history of landscape painting, of this long artistic tradition in this beautiful region. The artist’s experiences in the field influence his practice. To the rhythm of the seasons and the activities of picking, hiking and fishing, the painter immerses himself in nature and then translates it onto canvas. The brilliance of the colours and the surrealist hues of his paintings expose the fantastical landscapes with dancing clouds. Resulting in imaginative paintings that make you want to immerse yourself in them, where the colours follow the seasons."
