Clio Art Fair Spotlight: a Review by Jayla Jones

Artist Jayla Jones with her artwork showcased at Clio Art Fair

My art is a direct expression of my inner world, a reflection of my feelings and experiences in a given moment. I believe art offers the freedom to construct any reality, and I leverage this to make bold statements—whether they are humorous or powerfully empowering.

I am particularly drawn to the female form, finding immense beauty in its lines and curves. My work often celebrates women, but I also enjoy transforming conventionally "unpretty" subjects into something beautiful. This impulse stems from my unique perspective on life, which often diverges from societal norms; my art becomes a canvas for these intrinsic qualities. I thrive outside the box, refusing to be confined, and my work clearly echoes this spirit of rebellion.

Inspiration strikes from many sources, but music is a primary catalyst. I also find significant inspiration in political themes. Ultimately, I want viewers to feel a profound sense of empowerment and liberation when they engage with my art, even when it evokes laughter."
