To help artists prepare for a smooth and professional installation, Clio Art Fair has created this Layout & Installation Guide with key display notes, installation suggestions, and visual references.
 

Artists are encouraged to use this guide while planning the presentation of their artworks before arriving at the venue.
 

Installation Planning

A strong installation should feel clear, balanced, and professional. Artists are encouraged to think carefully about the placement, spacing, and overall rhythm of their booth presentation.

When preparing your layout, please consider:

• The size and number of artworks being displayed

• Clean spacing between each artwork

• A balanced arrangement across the assigned wall or floor space

• Clear visibility for visitors

• A presentation that supports both the individual artworks and the overall fair environment

Curatorial Review & Final Layout Approval

Please note that any layout presented by the artist is subject to review and final approval by the Clio Art Fair curatorial board.

The curatorial board may adjust or change the proposed layout at any time if it is considered beneficial for the artwork, the artist’s presentation, or the overall presentation of the fair.

We strongly encourage artists to begin a dialogue with the curatorial team in the days before installation, especially if they have specific placement requests, unusual display needs, or questions about how to best present their work.

Important Installation Rules

Please review the following installation rules carefully before preparing your booth:

• No easels are allowed on the fairgrounds.

• No artwork that has not been approved by the curatorial team can be exhibited.

• No artworks should be placed on the floor at any point during the exhibition period.

• No nails are allowed for installation. Only screws should be used.

• In some cases, alternative methods, such as tape, may be more appropriate depending on the nature of the work and must be discussed with the curatorial team in advance.

• Personal pedestals, chairs, or tables are not allowed without approval from the curatorial team.

• The fair director and curatorial team have the final say on the installation of each artist’s space.

Installation Support

Artists who selected Platinum or Diamond plans have art handling included in their participation package.

For any special installation requirements, artists are encouraged to contact the curatorial team before installation day so the presentation can be reviewed in advance.
